Connections Conference 2021

Building Community Prosperity | November 9 - 10

We're very excited that this will be the first year ever that the Connections Conference is online, and we can't wait for you to join us virtually in November. This year’s conference, presented by RBC and Suncor Energy Foundation, will consist of two full-day gatherings.

On day 1, Senator Ratna Omidvar of Ontario will give the opening keynote address: Confronting Uncomfortable Truths in the Charitable Sector – Turning Philanthropy into a Force for Justice, in conversation with Senator Paula Simons of Alberta.

On day 2, Vu Le of Nonprofit AF will be joining us to close out the conference with his keynote address: Time to Flip Some Tables: Cutting through the BS to Build a Prosperous Community. Attendees will have ample time for learning, networking, and exploring in between

The 2021 Connections Conference looks to the year ahead and centres around Building Community Prosperity in Alberta. Nonprofits were on the frontlines of the pandemic and continue to play a crucial role in supporting communities throughout recovery. The conference will build on the pivotal contributions of the sector over the past year, and focus on how nonprofits can work toward a more equitable and transformative recovery – one which includes all Albertans. Community leaders from across Alberta and Canada will host discussions on topics including reconciliation; advocacy; diversity, equity and inclusion; mental health; philanthropy; digital transformation; and youth engagement.
